
In the village of Strilkovychi in the Sambir district, Ivan Klym, a police officer and fighter of the special unit KORD (rifle), who was killed at the front while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region, was buried with military honours.
The defender of Ukraine sustained fatal injuries during counter-sabotage operations in Kostyantynivka as a result of a strike by an enemy FPV drone. This happened on 19 May. After that, Ivan Klym was considered missing, and later the fact of his death was officially confirmed.
Ivan Klym was born on 22 January 2002. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the service in platoon No. 1 of company No. 2 of the special purpose police battalion KORD (rifle) of the Lviv region police. During his service, he attained the rank of corporal and took part in assault operations on one of the most dangerous sectors in Donetsk region.
Family, comrades-in-arms and colleagues from the Lviv region police came to pay their last respects to Ivan Klym.
“Ivan’s death is an irreparable loss for his unit and for the Lviv region police force. He was very young, only 24 years old, but he bravely defended Ukraine, faithfully served his people and conscientiously fulfilled his duties as a police officer, and he was also very responsible and courageous and enjoyed the well-deserved respect of his comrades. I extend my sincere condolences to the parents and loved ones of our comrade. Eternal memory,” said Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi.
The farewell to the fallen corporal took place in Lviv region, in his native village of Strilkovychi.
