
In the village of Strilkovychi in Sambir district, police officer Ivan Klym, a fighter of the KORD (rifle) special unit, who was killed at the front while carrying out a combat mission, was buried with military honours.
According to the Lviv region police, the defender of Ukraine sustained fatal injuries during counter-sabotage operations in Kostyantynivka in Donetsk region as a result of a strike by an enemy FPV drone. After this, Ivan Klym was considered missing, and later the fact of his death was confirmed.
Ivan Klym was born on 22 January 2002. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the service in platoon No. 1 of company No. 2 of the KORD (rifle) special purpose police battalion of the Lviv region police. During his service, he attained the rank of corporal and took part in assault operations on one of the most dangerous sectors in Donetsk region.
Ivan Klym was laid to rest in the cemetery in his native village of Strilkovychi in Sambir district with military honours.
“Ivan’s death is an irreparable loss for his unit and for the Lviv region police as a whole. He was very young, only 24 years old, but he bravely defended Ukraine, faithfully served his people and conscientiously fulfilled his duties as a police officer, and he was also very responsible and courageous and enjoyed the well-deserved respect of his comrades-in-arms. I extend my sincere condolences to the parents and loved ones of our comrade. Eternal memory,” said Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi.
