Border guards trained in tactical medicine in Lviv region

Border guards learned how to help themselves and save a fellow soldier on the battlefield at a tactical medicine training.

Experienced instructors from the Christian Medical Association taught the basics of tactical medicine to Ukrainian soldiers. This is a charitable foundation that is currently helping thousands of people across Ukraine with medicines, training for doctors and organizing first aid courses.

“To save the life of a fellow soldier or your own on the battlefield, you need 2 things: skills and means. The main thing is to stop the bleeding and provide first aid to keep the wounded until the medics arrive. Until the algorithm of actions is brought to automaticity, the soldiers will not be able to provide quality assistance,” said the association’s instructors.

The border guards were shown how to conduct an examination to detect injuries and properly assist themselves and their colleagues. They were also told how to act according to the MARCH protocol, which is tactical medicine designed to provide gradual assistance.

According to the fighters, such training is very important for them, as they will have to act in extreme situations when everything depends on their quick and precise actions, because the main thing is a saved life.
