Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes a moment of silence to honor those who sacrificed their lives defending the nation from Russian aggression. Today, the Lviv region bids farewell to two Heroes who gave their lives protecting Ukraine.
🕯️ Ihor Korol (Call Signs: “Molfar” and “Graf”)
Ihor Korol was born in Dashava, Stryi community, and lived in Koniukhiv, Hrabovets-Dulybivska community. After marriage, he moved with his family to Hirne. A participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation (ATO/JFO), he was awarded the “Defender of the Motherland” medal.
When the full-scale invasion began, Ihor returned to the front lines, serving as a rifleman in the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. He was wounded in February 2024 near Lobkove, Zaporizhzhia region, but continued his service. He died on December 27, 2024, in Zelene, Donetsk region, at the age of 48.
🕯️ Taras Chesnokov
Taras Chesnokov was a resident of Berlyn, Zolochiv district. He served as a driver in the mortar group of a combat support platoon. The defender was killed on December 29, 2024, in the Donetsk region at the age of 33.
