A new procedure for holding mass events under martial law is now in force in Lviv region. The Defence Council of Lviv Region has approved unified requirements for the organisation of cultural, educational, sporting, religious and other public events, which are mandatory throughout the entire region.
During the period of martial law, the main priority has been defined as the protection of people’s lives and health. Therefore, organisers of mass events are obliged to submit a written request to local self-government bodies for approval of the event no later than 10 working days before the planned date.
In their request, organisers must clearly indicate the nearest shelter, whose capacity must fully correspond to the number of participants and spectators. When the “Air raid alert” signal is announced, the event must be stopped immediately and participants must be promptly evacuated to the shelter. The event may only be resumed after the official all-clear.
Organisers bear full responsibility for compliance with public order and fire safety requirements during mass events. The full text of the document is available in open access.
