In the village of Zvenyhorod in Lviv region, a farewell ceremony was held for a serviceman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Oleh Paslavskyi. The border guard was killed on 2 November 2024 while carrying out a combat mission in Luhansk region.
Oleh Paslavskyi was born on 25 May 1988. He lived in Zvenyhorod and studied at the local school. In March 2024, he was called up for military service during the mobilisation. After being called up, he joined the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment and served in the Shvkal rapid response border commandant’s office.
While performing a combat mission in Luhansk region on 2 November 2024, the border guard’s life was cut short. The farewell announcement emphasised that until the very end he remained faithful to the military oath and conscientiously fulfilled his duty to defend Ukraine.
The farewell to Oleh Paslavskyi took place in his native Zvenyhorod. The funeral service began in the Church of St Nicholas. After a joint prayer, the funeral procession set off for the local cemetery, where the fallen defender was buried with military honours. His family and friends, comrades-in-arms, fellow villagers and all who knew him came to pay their last respects.
The announcement also notes that for his family, Oleh Paslavskyi will forever remain a loved one; for his comrades-in-arms, a warrior with whom they shared service and combat missions; and for Ukraine, a defender who gave his life for her. Sincere condolences were extended to his family, friends and comrades-in-arms.
