An updated air-raid alert system has begun to be introduced in Lviv region. Under a government resolution, siren signals will now be differentiated according to the level of threat.
Two main levels are envisaged: the yellow level will indicate the threat of enemy drones being used, while the red level will signal a missile, missile-and-drone or large-scale drone attack.
At present, new activation algorithms and the corresponding signals “Air-raid alert” and “All clear” are being implemented at both technical and legislative levels. In Lviv district, the alert system covers around 500 siren-loudspeaker units, and there are more than 1,200 across the region as a whole, so specialists need time to retune the equipment.
During this transition period, temporary technical malfunctions or incorrect activation of sirens are possible. Residents are urged, if they hear the signals, to additionally verify the information via official sources, in particular the pages and Telegram channels of local authorities, the “Оповіщення ЦЗ” channel, the “Повітряна тривога” app and other trusted resources.
Residents of Lviv region are asked to pay close attention to alert signals and not to ignore safety rules if a threat is announced.
