Another tragic message has arrived from the war. The death of Ukrainian defender Vasyl Stepanovych Kryvulia, born on November 6, 1971, a resident of the settlement of ZhvyRka, has been confirmed.
Vasyl Kryvulia was born in the village of Derevnia in Zhovkva district, where he spent the first 15 years of his life. He later studied at a vocational school in Rava, where he trained as a machine operator and repair mechanic.
After completing his education, Vasyl performed compulsory military service. He later worked abroad. In 2014, he moved to ZhvyRka to live with his wife.
Following the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, on February 28, 2022, Vasyl Kryvulia voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served with the military rank of Junior Sergeant.
On February 13, 2024, the Ukrainian defender left to carry out a combat mission near the settlement of Ivanivske in Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. After that mission, contact with him was lost, and Vasyl was listed as missing in action.
For many months, his family waited for any information and continued to hope for his return. Eventually, however, they received the most painful news — the death of Vasyl Kryvulia was officially confirmed.
