Memorial plaques to fallen Defenders unveiled in the Stryi district

Commemorative events were held in the communities of the Stryi district to immortalise the names of Ukraine’s fallen and missing Defenders. This was reported by the Stryi District State Administration.

In the village of Bilche in the Mykolaiv community, memorial plaques and banners were consecrated in honour of the fallen servicemen. The memorial plaques bear the names of Andrii Kukhar, Vasyl Karpyn, Mykola Pushchak, Vasyl Sukhoverskyi, Yurii Olshanetskyi, Ivan Karpyn, Ihor Zrail and Roman Bratets.

Next to them, banners dedicated to servicemen currently listed as missing in action were also consecrated. Their names were honoured separately, with an emphasis that the community is waiting for news about each of them.

In the village of Horodyshchenske in the Khodoriv community, memorial plaques were unveiled on the facade of the local People’s House in honour of the fallen Defenders of Ukraine, Yaroslav Chvak and Yevhen Stakh. During the ceremony, those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the soldiers and laid flowers at the newly installed memorials.

The Stryi District State Administration stressed that such initiatives are important for preserving the memory of everyone who gave their life for Ukraine’s independence, as well as for supporting the families of fallen and missing servicemen.
