In the communities of Stryi district, on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, people paid tribute to the servicemen who died defending the country’s freedom and independence. In various localities of the district, new memorial sites were unveiled and consecrated in honour of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine. This was reported by the Stryi District State Administration.
In Zhydachiv, at Secondary School No. 2, a memorial stele was consecrated in remembrance of 13 Hero alumni who died for Ukraine’s liberty and independence. It immortalises the names of Ihor Baitala, Andrii Batsyk, Oleh Bezkhlibiak, Bohdan Bilotserkivets, Ihor Hachak, Volodymyr Hordyshynskyi, Bohdan Kubasha, Myroslav Luchyshyn, Yurii Ivasyshyn, Ihor Demkiv, Viktor Chemerys, Roman Futa and Dmytro Voloshyn.
In the village of Koziova, an Avenue of Glory was unveiled and consecrated in honour of the Fallen Heroes of the community. In Mykolaiv, the complex of memorial stands dedicated to the fallen soldiers was renewed, with new banners consecrated.
In Morshyn, at the Kost Maletskyi Lyceum, a memorial plaque was installed in honour of the fallen Warrior Yaroslav Melnyk. In Vola Zaderevatska, at the Educational Complex “Volezaderevatskyi Secondary School I–III levels – Nursery School” of the Morshyn City Council, a memorial plaque was unveiled to the school’s alumnus, Defender of Ukraine Maksym Yatsyk.
In the village of Bania Lysovytska of the Morshyn community, on the grounds of the Taras Brus memorial, steles to the fallen Heroes of the community were consecrated. They bear the names of Andrii Beniukh, Andrii Hehedysh, Oleh Honcharuk, Bohdan Hrechyshyn, Andrii Hrushchyk, Vitalii Iodlovskyi, Ihor Kalmykov, Vasyl Ketsyk, Roman Kobryn, Mykola Kohut, Mykola Komarov, Volodymyr Lipchanskyi, Anatolii Maleta, Yaroslav Melnyk, Vitalii Minakov, Vasyl Myshchak, Ivan Okunevskyi, Petro Panevnyk, Nazar Petrykiv, Vasyl Pivtorak, Mykhailo Sauliak, Vasyl Stefanyv, Nazarii Tymkiv and Maksym Yatsyk.
In the villages of the Rozvadiv community, ceremonial events were also held to unveil and consecrate memorial plaques in honour of local residents who gave their lives for Ukraine. In the village of Bratkivtsi of the Stryi community, a memorial plaque to Warrior Andrii Melnyk was unveiled on the wall of the local school.
The Stryi District State Administration stressed that the installation of new memorials is a continuation of the communities’ systematic efforts to honour fallen defenders and preserve the memory of them for future generations.
