This evening, users reported that an unknown car was speeding along Shevchenko Avenue in Sheptytskyi several times and accelerating.
Shevchenko Avenue is the central street of Sheptytsky. The video shows a car speeding up and disturbing public peace with loud noises.
It is worth adding that residents of Sokal, a town located next to Sheptytskoho Street, often see black circles on the asphalt at intersections in the morning after cars have been dispersed. Readers have repeatedly raised the problem of motorcyclists disturbing public peace in the evening and at night.
A reminder: drivers face a new fine of up to UAH 34,000 – the Rada will consider a draft law
The draft law provides for a fine of UAH 17,000 for the first exceedance of the permissible noise level by vehicles, and UAH 34,000 for the second. In the event of a repeated violation, the driver may also be deprived of the right to drive for a period of 3 to 6 months.
This is stated in draft law No. 9564, which was initiated by a group of MPs from the Servant of the People faction.
The document was included in the parliamentary agenda, so its consideration may take place in the near future.
The justification states that the increase in noise is often caused by the use of equipment that disturbs the peace of citizens and causes public discontent. A particular threat is posed by sounds similar to the noise of enemy drones, which in wartime can disorient military and law enforcement personnel.
