Mykola Zhuravchak, a resident of Stebnytsia, died in the war with the Russian aggressor

The sad news shook the community of Drohobych – a 26-year-old defender from Stebnyk, Mykola Zhuravchak, joined the ranks of the Heavenly Troops battalion.

The soldier was born on 14 May 1998 in the town of Stebnyk. He studied and graduated from the local gymnasium No. 7. Afterwards, he studied at the History Department of Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University. Then he studied at the Faculty of Economics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

With the full-scale invasion of the occupier, he left his studies and from the first days of the war went to serve as a volunteer at the front. He was a senior rifleman-operator of the mechanised division of the 2nd mechanised platoon of the 1st mechanised company of the A 4123 military unit.

On 27 May, the defender was seriously wounded while performing military tasks. He was sent to Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro. However, the soldier died from his injuries.

Mykola Zhuravchak is survived by his mother, father and sister.

The Drohobych City Council, its Executive Committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevych express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues on the untimely death of our countryman and Hero, Mykola Zhuravchak.

The time of arrival of the funeral convoy with the body of the fallen defender to his native land will be announced later.
