In Yavoriv district they will bid farewell to fallen soldier Oleksandr Kanivets

A farewell ceremony will be held in the town of Yavoriv for Oleksandr Kanivets, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was killed on 28 June 2026 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region.

Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Kanivets was born on 30 November 1997 in the settlement of Velykyi Burluk, Velykoburluk district, Kharkiv region. He studied at Kharkiv Lyceum No.147 and, after finishing his studies, immediately went to work. Before joining the army, he had trained as a builder and approached his work responsibly.

In 2023, at the age of 25, he voluntarily decided to defend Ukraine and signed a contract for military service. From 5 April 2023 he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as an operator in a unit of unmanned aviation systems within a mechanised battalion of military unit A0666. He took part in battles in the Donetsk sector, in particular in the areas of Druzhkivka and Bakhmut, carrying out combat missions for more than eight months on difficult sections of the front.

According to his loved ones, Oleksandr was hard-working, kind and sincere, and always supported his family. He is survived by his mother, two sisters and two brothers, one of whom is listed as missing.

“Everything will be Ukraine”

The cortege bearing the body of the fallen soldier is expected to arrive near School No.3 in the town of Yavoriv at approximately 12:30. After this, the funeral procession will proceed to the Church of St George, where the funeral service will be held. Sincere condolences are extended to his family and friends.
