Defender Mykhailo Shyika from Velyki Mosty was awarded the Order “For Courage of the Third Class” (posthumously)

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Shyka, a resident of Velyki Mosty, was awarded the Order “For Courage of the III degree”.

The award was presented by the head of the Velyki Mosty community Yaroslav Royko to his wife Lesia and children Volodymyr and Marichka.

Shyka Mykhailo Petrovych was born on November 20, 1990 in Velyki Mosty, Lviv region. After graduating from secondary school in 2009, Mykhailo studied at the Art Vocational School N-14 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv region. Since 2018, he has worked at United Fashion of Ukraine LLC as a woodworking machine operator.

On 13.04.2022 Mykhailo was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the operator of the control room of the division commander of the platoon of the division commander of the 2nd self-propelled artillery division of the military unit A2573.

On July 22, 2023, Shyika Mykhailo Petrovych died. The life of the serviceman ended as a result of an explosive injury during the fighting near the village of Vodiane, Kharkiv region. He was buried in his hometown on July 27, 2023 at the city cemetery.
The deceased defender is survived by his mother Olha, father Petro, wife Lesia, daughter Mariia and son Volodymyr, as well as brother Vasyl and sister Mariia.
