Yurii Viktorovych Tsarikov, a resident of the city of Sokal, has joined the Heavenly Legion. His life story reflects unwavering loyalty to his country and incredible resilience.
Born on October 17, 1988, Yurii studied at Secondary School No. 2 in Sokal and later continued his education at the Lviv Railway College. He worked at the Sokal division of the Lviv branch of Ukrzaliznytsia.
In 2014, he was drafted into military service and became a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine. When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, Yurii voluntarily returned to the front lines to defend Ukraine.
Throughout his military service, he took part in many combat operations, particularly in the east of the country. Despite suffering multiple severe injuries, he consistently returned to duty, never losing faith in Ukraine’s victory.
After another serious injury in 2024, Yurii was forced to retire from military service due to his health condition. On December 3, 2025, his heart stopped beating. He was only 37 years old.
The farewell ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 4, at 11:00 AM. Yurii will be laid to rest on the Alley of Glory in his hometown of Sokal.
He is mourned by his mother Natalia, wife Yuliia, young son Vladyslav, grandmother Lidiia, and his entire family. They bid farewell to a man who gave his life for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
