On Monday, 19 October 2026, the Novyi Rozdil community will receive the funeral cortege with the body of Defender of Ukraine Roman Hapotchenko, born on 11 August 1973. The farewell events will take place in the town of Novyi Rozdil.
At approximately 13:40 the cortege will arrive at the “Alley of Heroes” in Novyi Rozdil. Before that, the funeral procession will stop near the house where the serviceman lived, at: 1 Vynnychenka Street (opposite the main gates of the Halychyna stadium). There, a priest will offer prayers for the repose of the warrior’s soul.
After the commemoration at the “Alley of Heroes”, the funeral column will proceed along Khodorivska Street to the Church of St Nicholas (Novyi Rozdil, 2 Yavornytskoho Street). At 14:30 a panikhida and funeral service are planned in the church.
Roman Hapotchenko will be laid to rest at the Malekhiv cemetery. Residents of the community are asked to join in receiving the funeral cortege and to accompany the Defender of Ukraine on his final journey.
