A new star has ignited in the sky, bearing courage and resilience. Oleksandr Mitrofanov from Drohobych has joined the celestial army forever, devotedly defending the freedom of our country. At the age of 42, he has departed from us.
Oleksandr lived in Drohobych and from January 2025 served in the 156th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a UAV operator. He tragically passed away on 14 April 2026 during combat operations in Donetsk region, near Kostiantynivka.
He was a dedicated husband and father, always a pillar of support for his family. He is remembered as a sincere and open person, who knew how to inspire and encourage.
The Drohobych City Council extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the Hero. The time of arrival for the funeral procession will be announced later. Eternal memory to the defender of Ukraine.
