The Truskavets community gathered to pay tribute to Oleksandr Vasylovych Verbenets, who died in Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region. This tragic event deeply affected all who knew and respected him. He returned to his hometown to find eternal rest in Novyi Rozdil.
The funeral ceremony was led by priests from Truskavets, Dobrohostiv, and Siltse at the Church of St. Nicholas. The area around the church was filled with men — comrades from the police and criminal investigation, military personnel. They listened attentively to every word of the eulogy delivered by Father Dean Petro Ivasyvka, spoken on behalf of Oleksandr to his family and community.
As the coffin was carried out of the church, the crowd knelt, many with tears in their eyes. Comrades vowed to avenge Oleksandr’s death and that of other Heroes. “The enemy must answer for everything,” they say.
As the funeral procession flowed, the human spirit rose to higher realms under the prayers and worship of those who remained compassionate. Eternal memory, dear friend Oleksandr!
