Police officer Oleksandr Verbenets from the city of Novyi Rozdil in the Lviv region was killed defending Ukraine. He sustained fatal injuries on 26 March while carrying out a combat mission in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region as a result of being hit by an enemy drone. His body was evacuated from the battlefield by comrades.
Oleksandr was born on 6 November 1978. Since 2006, he served in the internal affairs bodies and was a participant in the ATO. From June 2024, he worked as an inspector in the special purpose police battalion KORD (rifle) of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Brave and devoted to the Oath, police major Oleksandr Verbenets performed combat and special tasks as part of the unit, particularly in one of the most dangerous directions in the Donetsk region. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of our colleague. Eternal glory to the Hero!
