Honoring the Memory of the Hero of the Velykomostivska Community

Today marks two years since the Velykomostivska community lost its Hero — Mykhailo Fedorus.

Mykhailo Andriyovych Fedorus was born on November 19, 1994, in the city of Velyki Mosty. He studied at the Velykomostivskyi Educational Complex “Comprehensive School I-III stages – Lyceum”, and later pursued a profession at the Chervonohrad Professional Mining and Construction Lyceum, graduating in 2014. He acquired the skills of a drywall installer, plasterer-painter.

In 2015, Mykhailo signed a contract for military service. He served diligently in the Military Unit A0543 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a year and a half. After completing his service, he worked and continued his education — this time as an electro-gas welder.

On May 16, 2021, Mykhailo got married. He and his wife lived two happy years together… But their shared journey was cut short by the war. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Mykhailo voluntarily stood up for Ukraine. He told his family: “Who if not me? If I don’t go there — they might come to my home. And I have someone to protect…”

He served with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, in Military Unit 3002 of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a senior mortar operator in a mortar battery and participated in combat operations in the Donetsk region. On July 16, 2023, near the settlement of Yasna Polyana, Donetsk region, we lost our Defender. He is survived by his wife, mother, father, and sister… And our eternal memory and gratitude!
