Vasyl Shchurko: The Hero Who Gave His Life for Ukraine
He continuously stayed on the front lines for eight months. He was persistent and determined in achieving his goals, disciplined, hard-working, and diligently performed his duties, often offering suggestions for work improvements, as his colleagues recount about our fallen defender Vasyl Shchurko.
Life Path and Service
Born and lived in the village of Verkhni Hai in Lviv region. In August 2023, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, military unit A0296. He was a rifleman-assistant to a grenadier. Unfortunately, our warrior perished on May 29, 2024, near the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. Vasyl was buried in his native village.

The Lviv Regional State Administration, in cooperation with the Heroes’ Memorial Platform of Remembrance, honors the memory of fallen defenders from the Lviv region.
