The brutal war has brought another painful loss to the community. On August 7, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region, remaining faithful to the military oath, Soldier Volodymyr Andriiovych Melnyk, a native of Telyazh village, was killed. He served as an operator of the 3rd radio reconnaissance section within the radio reconnaissance platoon of a reconnaissance company.
Until February 9, 2026, Volodymyr was considered missing in action, but a DNA examination officially confirmed his death.
