
Five defenders from the Yavoriv district have been honoured with high state awards, sadly, posthumously. The awards were presented to the families of the fallen soldiers.
Oleh Kevan, a defender from the village of Ivano-Frankove, was awarded the Order of Courage, Third Class. He joined the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade in February 2022, and after treatment, continued his service in the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade. The last known location of his presence was the settlement of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region.
Vasyl Lozynskyi, a soldier from the village of Zadebri in the Ivano-Frankivsk community, died on 6 November 2024 near the settlement of Novoivanivka in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. He was 43 years old.
Ivan Tuchapets, a native of the city of Yavoriv, served in the 63rd Separate Mechanised Brigade. He died on 28 June 2025 while carrying out a combat mission. The defender was 58 years old.
Stepan Shypka from the village of Koti died on 25 December 2022 during combat operations in the fortress city of Bakhmut. He was 48 years old.
Yuriy Hordiy, a native of Yavoriv, died on 31 August while on duty at a firing position near Kupiansk.
