On January 24, 29-year-old soldier Vitalii Yuriiovych Kohut tragically passed away at home while on leave. Vitalii served as a senior rifleman-operator in military unit A7154.
The Shchyptytska City Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the Hero’s family, friends, and all who knew him. We share the pain of this irreparable loss, bowing our heads in mourning, and remind everyone of the great cost of Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
On January 25, at 1:00 PM, a Requiem Mass for Vitalii Kohut will be held at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Ukraine. Following the service, the funeral will take place, and the Hero will be laid to rest at the Heroes’ Alley in Benduz Cemetery.
The community has declared a Day of Mourning in memory of Ukraine’s defender. Residents are urged to pay their respects to Vitalii, who sacrificed his life for Ukraine’s independence and the safety of its people.
