About Nazarii Andrushkiv

31-year-old Nazar Andrushkiv joined the patrol police in 2015 from a highly paid job. Relatives supported his choice. Now a police officer in the TACTIM tactical support department
On the day of the full-scale invasion, he had already collected all the necessary things, kissed his wife, son and daughter, gave instructions to pack an alarming suitcase and be ready, and went to work himself.

“After some time, the commander informed us of the departure. We didn’t know where and what was waiting for us, but the goal was the same – not to give the enemy any chance. After preparations in Kyiv, we headed to Irpin in a convoy. We came under direct fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties . We turned back and after half an hour, we went there again, because the task was to take positions in order to perform the specified tasks,” says Nazar.

“We were the eyes and ears of the military for more than two weeks. We clearly performed all tasks. There were moments when we already said goodbye to our lives,” the police officer continues.

Next, Nazar and his comrades from the patrol police went south. Where the assigned tasks and the nature of hostilities have changed. Already there, the police understood that the most important thing in war is a shovel.

“If you don’t dig in, you won’t survive,” says Nazar with a smile, but it wasn’t fun back then.
During the execution of the extreme task, the drinking water quickly ran out. The policeman recalls that the heat was unbearable, the situation was complicated by the burning fields and shelling around their foot column.

“We used every drop, and the road was long. When we reached the place of deployment, the water from the canister, which was almost boiling water because it had heated up in the sun, became the tastiest we had to drink. From that moment we learned the true taste of water and that not to forget,” Nazar plunged into memories.

Nazar stayed on the border of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions for about three months. Now he is in Lviv and is preparing for new tasks with his brothers. We thank Nazarov and all those who protect our Ukraine
