Drohobych resident Ivan Shuklin killed while defending Ukraine

Ivan Shuklin, a resident of Drohobych, was killed while defending Ukraine from the enemy. The community lost another brave son and true patriot.

Ivan Shuklin was born on February 20, 1984. He lived in Drohobych on Chornovil Street.

He graduated from school #4 and vocational school #15. He worked at a meat processing plant in Drohobych, but mostly traveled abroad to work.

After getting married, he lived on Ivasiuk Street in Drohobych for the last 13 years.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Ivan was abroad, but he returned home to defend Ukraine. In June 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 68th separate ranger brigade. After that, he spent a year and a half at the frontline combat positions.

For the conscientious performance of military duties, he received an honorable award from the command – the Cross of the Warrior Ranger, First Class.

Unfortunately, while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region, on January 28, Ivan was killed as a result of mine-blast injuries.

The deceased soldier is survived by his mother, wife, two beloved daughters and brothers.

His comrades-in-arms will remember Ivan as a true warrior, whom his subordinates looked up to, and his commanders entrusted him with the most difficult tasks…

The Drohobych City Council, its Executive Committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevych express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues on the untimely death of our countryman and Hero, Ivan Shuklin.
