Crews of anti-aircraft interceptor drones from the rapid response border commandant’s office “Shkval” of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment are on round-the-clock duty in the sky, detecting, pursuing and destroying enemy Shahed and Geran-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the border guards, Russian forces are trying to change the routes and tactics of using strike drones in order to avoid interception and break deep into Ukrainian territory to carry out attacks on people, infrastructure facilities and elements of the state’s defence.
Every combat sortie for the Shkval unit turns into an aerial confrontation, during which drone operators, navigators, as well as electronic intelligence and electronic warfare specialists need maximum concentration, professional experience and a rapid response. It is the well-coordinated work of all participants that delivers the key outcome — the confirmation: “Target destroyed”.
