The death of Oleh Yurchenko, born in 1988, who for a long time was considered missing, has been confirmed. He served as a private, a radio-telephone operator in the signal platoon of a mechanised battalion of military unit A4447.
The defender’s family waited almost three years for his return, as since December 2023 Oleh Yurchenko had been listed as missing. It has recently become known that the serviceman was killed on 31 December 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region.
The farewell ceremony for the warrior Oleh Yurchenko will take place on Monday, 3 August. A parastas and funeral service are scheduled at 13:30 in the Church of St Josaphat. The defender will be laid to rest on the Alley of Heroes at the Sosnivskyi Cemetery.
The community extends its condolences to the family, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen serviceman and stresses the duty to remember the high price of Ukraine’s independence and freedom.
