Senior soldier Vitalii Dmytrenko, born in 1982, has been officially declared killed in action while carrying out a combat mission near the town of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region. This was reported by the Sheptytska City Council.
The serviceman was an operator in the anti-tank missile systems platoon of a rifle battalion of military unit A0998. Since June 2024 he had been considered missing in action, and for almost two years his family had been waiting for news of his fate.
According to confirmed information, Vitalii Dmytrenko was killed on 19 June 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near Chasiv Yar.
He is mourned by his mother, for whom Vitalii was her only son, his wife, son, friends and comrades-in-arms. The Sheptytska City Council expressed its sincere condolences to the family, loved ones and fellow soldiers of the fallen defender and stressed the duty to remember the high price of Ukraine’s independence and freedom.
