Maksym Ustymenko was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for defending the skies against Russian aggression.
“Today he died, defending our skies, our people from yet another massive Russian attack – there were more than 500 strike drones and missiles just last night. Most of them were shot down. Maksym Ustymenko had been fighting since the ATO times, mastering four types of aircraft, and his record holds truly important achievements for Ukraine. It is painful to lose such individuals. My condolences to his family, friends, and comrades. Eternal memory,” stated the President.
Maksym Ustymenko was one of the best pilots in Ukraine. He fought since the ATO times, mastering four types of aircraft. His contribution to the defense of the country was significant. The President signed a decree awarding him the title Hero of Ukraine.
