The Radekhiv community has lost another defender of Ukraine.
After a prolonged battle for life, on May 16, 2025, serviceman Bohdan Soltys, an unmanned aerial systems operator, passed away. He was a resident of the village of Zabava, born on May 7, 2001. “The defender was called up for military service on October 6, 2020, and had been serving under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2021,” the report states. On February 15, 2025, while performing a combat mission near the village of Vodiane Druhe in the Donetsk region, he suffered a severe wound. As a result of the injuries, after numerous surgeries and a prolonged coma, Bohdan’s heart stopped.
The cortege with the defender’s body is being received today, May 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The residents of the city of Radekhiv are requested to come out to the Heavenly Hundred stele and along Stoyanivska Street to the statue of Jesus Christ, creating a living corridor to pay tribute and see the warrior off with honor on his last journey. After this, the mourning cortege will proceed to the defender’s hometown of Zabava. The funeral will take place tomorrow, May 18, 2025, at 1:30 PM in the village of Zabava.
