Another warrior from Truskavets was added to the Heavenly Legion – Petro Yurkevich “Axe”
Again, sad news from the front for our community. On April 1 of this year, during a combat mission near the city of Chasiv Yar (Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region), Petro Ivanovich Yurkevich from Truskavet was killed.
Sad news was announced today in the Truskavet city council.
Petro was born on July 2, 1980 in Truskavets. He spent his childhood and youth here. In 2014, he stood up for the defense of Ukraine and passed the ATO with dignity. With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, in May 2022, an experienced military man again, without hesitation, went to fight for the freedom and independence of our State.
In the ranks of the Armed Forces, junior sergeant Petro Ivanovich Yurkevich was the commander of a combat vehicle – the commander of the 3rd mechanized division of the 3rd mechanized platoon of the 2nd mechanized company of the 3rd mechanized battalion of military unit A 4123.
Peter was very loved and respected by his brothers. So, about “Axe” (call sign of Petro Yurkevich) “Right Sector Boryslav” in FB notes, – “He was a brave and wise warrior, loyal to his comrades! By his example, he led into battle and destroyed the enemies of his nation. Ukraine has lost its true loyal son! A huge loss for our unit, Truskavets and Boryslav and all of Ukraine! “.
It is a great pain and sadness for all of us – once again saying goodbye to a courageous and brave soldier. We offer our sincere condolences to the relatives, in particular to the son Vladyslav, who remained an orphan, to all relatives, friends, brothers and sisters of Petro Yurkevich “Sokyra”.
May his soul forever rest in the Kingdom of Heaven, may the Lord take him into his arms. Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
