On 27 June 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region, Ukrainian defender Andriy Batytskyi, a resident of the village of Malniv, was killed. The battle in which he sustained fatal wounds took place near the settlement of Bila Hora.
Andriy Batytskyi was 45 years old; he was born on 25 October 1979. He served as a junior sergeant, a border guard inspector and an anti-tank missile system operator in a rapid response border commandant’s office, carrying out tasks in the most dangerous sectors.
The fallen soldier is remembered as a fighter who, to the very end, remained faithful to the military oath and the Ukrainian people, giving his life for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
The coffin with the body of Andriy Batytskyi will be transported along the route Lviv – Yavoriv – Hlynytsi – Malniv. The arrival of the fallen defender is expected on 21 July, approximately between 12:30 and 13:00.
Residents are urged to join the guard of honour along the route and pay proper tribute to the memory of the soldier who gave his life for Ukraine.
