
A ceremony was held in Lviv to present posthumous awards to the mothers and wives of police officers who died defending Ukraine. The ceremony took place on 24 March at the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. The awards were presented by police representatives, including Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Vusinskyi and Captain Volodymyr Fedkiv.
Police Corporal Yevhen Pylyushchak, a native of the village of Birkiv in the Yavoriv district, was posthumously awarded the President of Ukraine’s “For the Defence of Ukraine” distinction. His mother, Lyubomyra Yevhenivna, received the award. Yevhen died on 24 November 2025 while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the city of Kostiantynivka.
Another hero, Police Corporal Pavlo Nevendliovskyi from the city of Dublyany, also received a posthumous award. His mother, Mariya Mykhailivna, accepted the distinction for her son, who died on 1 August 2025 in a battle in the Donetsk region.
Senior Lieutenant of Police Nazariy Borys from the city of Horodok was posthumously honoured, and his wife Svitlana Ivanivna received the award. Nazariy died on 13 January 2025 while on a mission in the area of the city of Toretsk.
Vyacheslav Vusinskyi addressed the relatives of the deceased, emphasising that their loved ones gave their lives for Ukraine’s independence. He assured that the police would always support the families of the fallen heroes.
