
In Lviv, police bomb technician Dmytro Ryvak was posthumously awarded the President of Ukraine’s honor.
Senior Police Lieutenant Dmytro Ryvak, a senior special assignments inspector of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of the National Police of Ukraine, died on October 4, 2022, while performing tasks during the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories.
The President of Ukraine’s Award “For the Defense of Ukraine” (posthumously) was presented today, June 13, to the fallen officer’s wife, Maryana Ryvak, by the head of the Lviv police, Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi.
Dmytro was born in Lviv. Since 2014, he performed combat missions in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone as part of the volunteer battalion “Holy Mary.” From 2017 to 2019, he served as an explosives technician inspector in the Explosives Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk region. He later worked in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of the National Police of Ukraine. He died on October 4, 2022, while performing tasks during the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. The officer was 42 years old.
He was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in his hometown.
