A sorrowful loss has struck the Sokal community. Ihor Volodymyrovych Kukla (born 05.10.1977), a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a resident of Sokal, has passed away at the age of 46.
Since the onset of the war in 2014, Ihor actively supported Ukraine as a volunteer, personally delivering supplies to the frontline. In 2015–2016, he served in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.
Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, Ihor voluntarily returned from abroad to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Starting in March 2022, he served in the 14th Brigade “Chervona Kalyna” in Vinnytsia.
Farewell and Burial
- Date and Time: Tomorrow, January 21, at 12:00 PM, the community will gather to meet Ihor Kukla’s body near the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
- Ceremony: A memorial service and burial rites will be held in the church.
- Resting Place: Ihor will be laid to rest at the Alley of Glory in Sokal.
