The Sokal region grieves the loss of another defender of Ukraine. Soldier Andriy Kalynevych, born in 1979 and a resident of Sokal, has passed away.
He was mobilized on February 24, 2022, at the start of the full-scale war and served as a senior soldier in military unit A-4447.
Andriy took part in numerous assaults and combat operations, often stationed at the most intense frontlines in eastern Ukraine. On June 9, his heart stopped.
The farewell ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 22, at 14:00 near the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. A prayer vigil and burial will follow.
The Sokal community has declared June 22 a day of mourning.
