Posthumous Awards for Hero Policemen from Lviv Region

The head of the Lviv police presented posthumous awards to the families of fallen hero policemen.

Today, October 9, Police General Oleksandr Shliakhovskyi presented awards to the families of fighters of the KORD battalion – Viktor Oleksyn, Vitaliy Slovik, and Andriy Dovhey, who died defending Ukraine.

Senior Sergeant Viktor Oleksyn was awarded the Order of Courage, III degree (posthumously). He died on October 17, 2024, in Donetsk region, having dedicated over 16 years to service. He is survived by his wife Natalia, three children, and parents.

Senior Sergeant Vitaliy Slovik was also awarded the Order of Courage, III degree (posthumously). He died on January 4 in Toretske, defending Ukraine’s independence. He is survived by his mother Iryna and wife Oleksandra.

Andriy Dovhey was posthumously awarded the “Badge of Honor” and the “Golden Cross”. He sustained a severe injury on May 26 in Donetsk region and died on July 23. He is survived by his mother Lyubomyra and wife Iryna.

“The war continues and takes away the best. This is an irreplaceable loss in our ranks, and their memory should be eternal,” – said Oleksandr Shliakhovskyi.
