The heroic actions of Ukrainian paratroopers from the Galician Brigade were recognized at the highest level. President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, presented honorary awards to the soldiers for their bravery during combat operations in the Kursk region, as reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky.
The 80th Separate Air Assault Galician Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces demonstrated outstanding combat capability. Under the command of the courageous Oleksandr Tarkovsky, several enemy infantry units were destroyed, armored vehicles and transport means were routed, and prisoners were taken along with vital reconnaissance information obtained.
Oleksandr Tarkovsky was personally awarded the Cross of Combat Merit. Alongside him, for their honest service, Sergeant Ruslan Korin received the Bogdan Khmelnitsky Order of the III degree, and soldier Pavlo Vasylyk – the ‘For Courage’ Order of the II degree.
In conclusion, Maksym Kozytsky congratulated the heroes on their high state awards, expressing gratitude for their bravery, courage, and unwavering spirit in defending the sovereignty of Ukraine. The Galician Brigade confirmed its status: “Always First!”.
