
Honoring the Heroes: Nine Defenders from Yavorivshchyna Awarded State Honors Posthumously
Nine more of our defenders from Yavorivshchyna have been awarded high state honors by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. Sadly, posthumously. This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.
Awarded the Order ‘For Courage’ II Class:
- Petro Nutskovskyi, a resident of the village of Volytsia. Petro voluntarily joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023. He was killed in September 2024 near the settlement of Obukhivka in the Kursk region.
- Volodymyr Savka, a resident of the urban-type settlement Ivano-Frankove. The warrior joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in May 2024. He was seriously injured in September 2024 in the Kursk direction and died in October of the same year after a long treatment.
Awarded the Order ‘For Courage’ III Class:
- Ivan Sas, a resident of the village of Malnivska Volya. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Ivan left his job abroad and returned home to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He was killed in August 2024 in battles in the Kursk region.
- Ihor Ivanovych, a resident of the village of Zaluzhzhia. Ihor joined the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces in June 2024. He was killed in September 2024 in the Kursk region.
- Yaroslav Dudjak, a resident of the settlement of Ivano-Frankove. The warrior was killed in August 2024 during a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Olhivka in the Kursk region.
- Bohdan Matseliukh from the village of Stary Yar. In August 2023, Bohdan joined the 14th Mechanized Brigade. He was killed in May 2024 during a combat mission in Kharkiv region.
- Pavlo Patsiukh, a native of the village of Selydove in the Donetsk region, who spent most of his life in Novoyavorivsk. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Pavlo stood up for his country. He was killed in March 2024 during a combat mission in the Luhansk region.
- Yevhen Balaban, a resident of the village of Bortiatyn. He was killed in September 2024 during military operations in the Donetsk region.
- Vasyl Tsytsia, a native of the village of Sianky. The warrior was killed in February 2024 during a combat mission near Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The awards were presented to the families by the head of the Yavoriv District State Administration, Yaroslav Komynskyi. ‘Eternal memory and deep respect to the Defenders of our state. Sincere condolences to the relatives and friends,’ emphasized the regional head.
