Border guard Maksym hugged his sons – Oleksandr and Bohdan – for the first time in nine months. His reunion with his family was filled with happiness and tears of joy.
Maksym is a serviceman of the rapid response commandant’s office ‘Shkval’ of the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment. From 2014 to 2016, he defended Ukraine in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. And when in 2022 the enemy launched a full-scale invasion, Maksym returned to service without hesitation.
Together with the ‘Shkval’ unit, he went through the hottest areas – Bakhmut, Serhebransky forest, Vovchansk. His path is a frontline chronicle of courage, resilience, and loyalty to the oath.
At home, his loved ones – a beloved wife and two sons – awaited him every day. They believed, prayed, and counted the days until the reunion.
Today, we share with you images that speak more than any words: the embraces of father and son, filled with the power of love that transcends time and distance.
For as long as we have someone to fight for, we will have the strength to stand.
