Sad News: The Radekhiv Community Lost a Hero

The Radekhiv community deeply mourns the loss of their fellow countryman, Junior Lieutenant Oleh Kraynyk.

On January 28, 2026, Oleh Kraynyk, a native of the village of Byshiv born on December 20, 1991, passed away. He stood to defend his homeland in 2024, performing combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia direction as part of the 210th Separate Assault Regiment of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After heavy battles and sustained injuries, the heart of the Hero stopped, leaving a profound loss for his family and the community.

For his personal courage and devoted service, the Defender was awarded the Honorary Badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Silver Cross” and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s Medal “For Wounds”.

“The Radekhiv City Council expresses its sincere condolences to the wife, son, parents, relatives, close ones, and comrades-in-arms of the Hero. Together with you, we bow our heads in mourning, remembering the courage and dedication of Oleh, who will forever remain an example for us all,” as stated in the message.

The funeral service for the Defender will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12:00 in the city of Lviv at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul UGCC. The Warrior will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery, at the field of honor #87 (Pasichna St.).
