Radekhiv community to welcome cortege with the body of fallen defender Andrii Okhotskyi

The Radekhiv community has announced the return to his homeland of the body of fallen defender Andrii Okhotskyi from the village of Vuzlove. The serviceman, a private in the 1st mechanised squad of the 3rd mechanised platoon of the 5th mechanised company of the 2nd mechanised battalion of the military unit, was killed on 9 January 2024 in Zaporizhzhia region while carrying out a combat mission to defend Ukraine.

Andrii Okhotskyi, born in 1996 (10 December), had been considered missing in action. Later, DNA test results confirmed his death.

The cortege with the body of the fallen soldier is scheduled to be met on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at 10:30. Residents of Radekhiv are asked to come out to the Heavenly Hundred stele and along Lvivska Street to the Symbolic Grave to the Fighters for Ukraine’s Freedom (the junction of Ob’izna and Lvivska streets) to form a living corridor and pay their respects to the defender.

After the cortege arrives, Andrii Okhotskyi will be accompanied on his final journey to his native village of Vuzlove, where the funeral service will take place.

The community extends its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen serviceman, emphasising that the memory of him will remain in the hearts of all who knew and respected him.
