On 13 June in Radekhiv, a cortege will be met carrying the body of fallen defender of Ukraine Yaroslav Andriyovych Bortnyk from the village of Dmytriv in the Radekhiv community.
As reported by the Radekhiv community, Private, rifleman-medic of the 1st squad, 3rd rifle platoon of the rifle company (reserve) Yaroslav Andriyovych Bortnyk, born in 1996, was killed on 29 October 2025 in Donetsk region while carrying out a combat mission to defend Ukraine.
Until 9 June 2026, the serviceman was considered missing in action. Later, DNA testing confirmed his death.
The cortege with the body of the fallen soldier will be met on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at 11:00. Residents of Radekhiv are asked to come out to the Heavenly Hundred stele and along Lvivska Street to the Symbolic Grave to the Fighters for Ukraine’s Freedom (the junction of Ob’їzna and Lvivska streets) to form a living corridor and accompany the defender on his final journey to his family home in the village of Dmytriv.
In Dmytriv, the funeral service for Yaroslav Bortnyk will take place immediately. The community extends its condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen soldier and notes that the bright memory of him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and respected him.
