There is a new defense package: air defense, artillery, projectiles, engineering means. And the long-term agreement is that we will work together so that Ukraine produces the necessary weapons together with America.
This is a new level of our unity! Co-production in “defense” with the United States is a historical thing. A new industrial base, new jobs for both our peoples. Ukraine will be able to produce, in particular, anti-aircraft missiles. We are preparing to create a new defense ecosystem with the United States to produce weapons to further strengthen freedom and protect life together.
This will have global positive results. Thank you, Mr. President Biden! Thank you Congress – both parties, both houses. Today, the day in the capital of America began precisely with the Congress – with very frank, detailed conversations. I felt trust – the trust that is always the basis of unity. Clear, candid questions from members of the House of Representatives and senators. Direct answers. It is a priority for Ukraine that transparency be necessary in our relations with America.
Government officials had a lot of work. In particular, today the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, Minister Kamyshin, signed cooperation agreements with three key associations. More than 2,000 defense companies are American companies. We invite you to work in Ukraine. There is a memorandum on energy cooperation. Fundamental matters were discussed today regarding the restoration of Ukraine after hostilities.
They also discussed strengthening the institutions of our state in order to cleanse Ukraine of any hostile and corrupt influences. There is a valuable decision to return to Ukraine the artifacts stolen by the occupiers – items from the Scythian period.
The first lady had her important events today. And a meeting with the first lady of America, Jill Biden. And Georgetown University – meeting with students, expanding our cultural diplomacy. 40th Ukrainian bookshelf. Later in the evening, together with Olena, they addressed all Americans – both political leaders, members of Congress, and ordinary Americans who have done so many extraordinary things to help our people, Ukrainian children, our Ukrainian families, and our soldiers. I thank the United States, thank you America!
