2 November marks a year since the death of Ukraine’s defender Oleh Mazurkevych, who gave his life defending the state. The fighter was born on 1 February 2002 and was only 23 years old at the time of his death.
Materials about Oleh note that he should have had a whole life ahead of him, with plans, dreams and hopes, but he consciously chose to defend Ukraine and paid the highest price for its freedom and independence.
His family, friends and community remember their loss with pain, stressing that time does not lessen this pain. In their memory, Oleh Mazurkevych will forever remain a Hero who bravely fulfilled his duty to his Motherland.
