
Today marks one year since the day when, while carrying out a combat mission, Defender of Ukraine, Staff Sergeant Volodymyr Mykhailovych Yatsyshyn from the Velyki Mosty community was killed.
On 15 June 2025 near Vovchanski Khutory in Kharkiv region, after an enemy drone struck combat positions, Volodymyr Yatsyshyn went missing. For eight months his family waited for news and hoped for a miracle, but DNA test results confirmed that the serviceman had died fulfilling his duty to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Yatsyshyn was born and raised in his native land, was a loving son, husband and father, and was known for his diligence and sense of responsibility. He devoted a significant part of his life to serving the state, and with the start of the full-scale war, he once again, without hesitation, took up the defence of Ukraine.
Staff Sergeant Yatsyshyn defended the state in different sectors of the state border and carried out combat missions in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to the military oath, to his comrades-in-arms and to the Ukrainian people.
On the anniversary of his death, the Velyki Mosty community remembers Volodymyr Yatsyshyn, his life’s path, courage and self-sacrifice. They emphasise that his name is forever inscribed in the history of the community and of Ukraine.
Condolences are extended to his mother Olha, his wife Oksana, his son Ivan, his daughter Sofiia, and to all the relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen defender. Eternal memory and glory to Volodymyr Yatsyshyn.
