The family of fallen serviceman Yaroslav Dudiak has been solemnly presented with a state decoration. The President of Ukraine's award "For the Defence of Ukraine" was handed to the soldier's mother, Mariia Ivanivna.
The award ceremony took place with the participation of the settlement head, Iryna Perun, and representatives of the Yavoriv District Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support. The decoration was presented as a token of the state's gratitude for the defender's courage and self-sacrifice, his devotion to Ukraine and the struggle for its freedom.
Yaroslav Dudiak, born in 1972, lived in the settlement of Ivano-Frankove. He served as a rifleman-medic in military unit A7470. On 19 August 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Olhivka in Russia's Kursk region, the serviceman was killed in action defending Ukraine.
He is mourned by his mother, Mariia Ivanivna, his sister Oksana, his brother Ihor and his nephew Oleh. The community extends its condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the fallen soldier and honours his feat.
