In the Truskavets community, people are remembering Roman Dashko from the village of Dobrohostiv, who was killed on 18 June 2025 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Perebudova in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region. For his family, comrades-in-arms and fellow villagers, this is a painful anniversary of an irreparable loss.
Dashko Roman Mykolaiovych was born on 1 August 1990 in Dobrohostiv. From 1996 to 2007 he studied at Dobrohostiv Secondary School, after which he entered Drohobych Medical College. In February 2009 he completed massage courses, and in 2010 he qualified as a nurse.
From 2010 to 2022 Roman worked as a rehabilitation specialist at the “Geneva” sanatorium. In 2017 he married, and in 2018 the family welcomed the birth of their daughter Alisa. From 2022 to 2024 he worked as a massage therapist at the “Karpaty” and “Moldova” sanatoriums. His relatives and friends remember him as a caring father, son and husband, a devoted and sincere friend for whom, above all, stood his family, his parents, his wife Iryna, his son Sashko and his little daughter Alisa.
In May 2024 Roman was called up for military service. He was a gunner in the 1st Mortar Section of the mortar platoon of the fire support company of the 3rd Air Assault Battalion of a military unit. From the very first days of his service he carried out combat missions in the eastern sector under conditions of intense fighting, taking part in destroying enemy manpower and equipment and providing fire support for the assault actions of Ukrainian units.
During his service Roman proved himself to be a conscientious, disciplined, determined and courageous soldier, as well as a wise and responsible crew commander. His comrades repeatedly noted his composure, sense of responsibility and effectiveness in battle. Even in the most difficult conditions, he remained true to his military oath, demonstrating strength of character and dedication to the Ukrainian people.
On 18 June 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near Perebudova in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, Roman Dashko sustained fatal wounds as a result of fire from Russian troops and was killed in action with great bravery. His death became the greatest grief for his family and a profound loss for his comrades and the entire community.
