Year of Remembrance: The Velykomostivska Community Honors Andriy Chobit

Today marks a year since the Velykomostivska community lost their Defender — Andriy Chobit.

Andriy Bohdanovych Chobit was born on December 4, 1992, in the village of Butyny. From a young age, he was known for his kindness, sincerity, and care for his loved ones. After school, he worked in construction and later went to Kyiv for work opportunities.

In July 2024, he was conscripted for military service. He served as a marksman-sniper in the military unit A4848. Since September 26, 2024, he was considered missing in action during a combat mission near Vodyane in the Donetsk region.

Everyone believed, waited, prayed until the end… But fate decided otherwise. In April 2025, the body of our compatriot was identified and returned home — on a shield. This occurred on Good Friday… Andriy was only 31 years old. Ahead of him was a lifetime — dreams, love, family. But he sacrificed the most valuable thing — his life — for our peace and the future of Ukraine.

He will forever remain in our memory young, smiling, brave. Andriy is mourned by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.

Eternal glory and bright memory to the Hero! Eternal gratitude to his family for a son, a brother who became an example of courage for all of us.
